Camp Ripley Training Center Logistics

The mess crew was the first to wake on Day 2 of the 347th Regional Support Group’s annual training at Camp Ripley Training Center on Aug. 6, 2017. Never under-appreciated, the dedicated crew is (to the delight of all) providing two hot field meals each and every day for the nearly 270 Soldiers currently occupying Tactical Assembly Area Victory.

Contract Dining Facility

The Contract Dining Facility (CDF) can seat up to 400 personnel at a time. The facility is designed to feed all site support personnel, Soldiers in school status, and small units without organic mess sections.

Minnesota National Guard Unit Request Procedures

Requests should be made 30 days prior to using the dining facility. Requests can be changed/updated 72 hours prior to use. Unit commanders may be held responsible for any unit falling under the 10% margin allowed. The CDF is for the use of hot A rations eaten in the dining facility or mermited out. MREs and TOTMs must be ordered through the USPFO Warehouse (refer to MRE_TOTM_Request_Form below). Bag lunch components can be ordered through the DCSLOG Food Service Program Office.

Active Duty, Reserve and Out of State unit request procedures

You will have to fill out a Contract Dining Facility Request (refer to the CDF Meal Request Form below). We would like the request 45 days prior to using the dining facility. In the remarks block, we will need to know how you plan to pay the contractor and a point of contact for the purchase of said meals. The CDF is for the use of hot A rations eaten in the dining facility or mermited out. MREs and TOTMs must be ordered through the USPFO Warehouse (refer to MRE_TOTM_Request_Form below). Bag lunch components can be ordered through the DCSLOG Food Service Program Office (paul.j.erickson.mil@mail.mil or cliff.a.doucette.mil@mail.mil).

Food Service
The Minnesota National Guard food program

Mission: To ensure the Minnesota Army National Guard units and out-of-state units have available the means to support their organizations with wholesome safe food.

The Minnesota Army National Guard utilizes the Army Food Management Information System (AFMIS) for all requesting and reporting of food consumption of both prepared and catered within the state. AFMIS requests and reporting are reviewed by the DCSLOG (DOL, J4) Food Service Section located at Director of Logistics, Building 11-1, Camp Ripley, MN.

The DCSLOG Food Section is responsible for all inquiries on food and food equipment needs throughout the state.

Food Service Support

Units should have access to AFMIS. This is done through contacting DCSLOG Food Section.

  • Once units have access, a DA Form 5913 Strength Report signed by commander must be emailed to the DCSLOG Food Service Section with notification that an order has been placed into AFMIS and Sysco.
  • Upon receipt of email from unit or organization, the DCSLOG Food Service Section will process order ensuring it complies with current BDFA; and delivery address and date are correct.
  • After designated period of support is finished a DA Form 5913 Feeder Report, signed by the commander, is emailed to DCSLOG Food Service Section and grocery order is closed out in AFMIS.

If units are from out-of-state contact the DCSLOG Food Service Section for more information on procedures for ordering subsistence.

Operational Rations: The only operational rations are MREs and TOTMs. Those can be ordered through the USPFO Warehouse utilizing the MRE/TOTM request form. All requests will go through CW4 Leyendecker: laura.a.leyendecker.mil@mail.mil at (320) 616-3032, CW2 Scanlon: scott.t.scanlon.mil@mail.mil at (320)616-3033, and WOC Cliff Doucette: cliff.a.doucette.mil@mail.mil at (320)616-2674. If units are using UGRAs they should be ordered through your state and have them delivered.
